The Good Stuff (Eats!) in Cape Town

We saw, we ate, we conquered… or something like that. Thanks to numerous guidebooks, internet searches, and sometimes just dumb luck, we found a number of great eateries around the city. Here’s a brief list, as well as some details:

Auburgine (39 Barnet Street, Gardens, Cape Town): great food, including South African sourced meats, paired with wonderfully-chosen local wines.

Table Thirteen (78 Victoria Junction, Ebenezer Road, Green Point, Cape Town): stumbled upon this casual, chic eatery that serves homespun fare that lingers on your tongue (in a good way) for days to follow (dear friend Gila was talking about the “healthy” chicken pot pie she had there for the rest of our trip).

Quite the posh experience, The Roundhouse Restaurant (The Glen, Camps Bay, Cape Town), was our last culinary stop in Cape Town and certainly a highlight. Choose from a three, four, or five course menu (we stuck to a mere three and were stuffed by meal’s end!) that features an array of African delights. Be sure to check out the extensive wine menu!
